Updates!

Well, it's summer! Yay! I could post a bunch of things from school this semester. Could. OR, you all could be cool and just go to my website (www.lifeofgeek.com) and check stuff out there! Or search for Life of Geek on Facebook! Because I already posted my stuff there and doing it a third time seems redundant! I will post stuff here at some point, but I don't see the point in doing major updates on all three sites. So yeah, go check them out elsewhere!

Characters, I Designs Them

Disclaimer: I never said I design them WELL.

I Never Said I Was a Photographer...

So enjoy these crappy photos of some more assignments! Yes, more "visual development" stuff. (I actually have more to post, but I decided I want to ink them first, I'll actually be reposting these when they're scanned and colored and not crappy).

Sketch of Drey's mom. She's also kind of a "base" for the society he was born into. The village is made up of semi-anthro creatures that move around on all fours, but can stand on their hind legs and use their front paws as hands. It applies to different species in the village, not just wolves, his mom just happens to be one. I'm planning on an upright drawing next.

This is young Drey because I thought it would be cute (and good practice since he's a child in a few panels in chapter 2). I was wrong.
And this is a sketch for Xin! I haven't really mentioned her TOO much to people that I haven't explained the plot to, but she's important in chapter 2. She's a flying fox (HURR, I'M CLEVER) and has many mythological aspects of a phoenix. Her wings aren't really...material. They're kind of more of an elemental thing that she summons and can only be seen by a few (kind of like Dinger for anyone that knows anything about him).

Expect less ugly versions of these later!

Yeah, I'm bad

I have a ton of stuff from school I can post I've just been feeling fairly...unenthusiastic about it, so I apologize for the lack of updates. Part of it also stems from the fact that I have both a facebook fan page AND a website I feel the need to update with images so wanting to post the same things on three sites is rather tedious. I do like the blog since I can, well, do this, write about what's going on, but I feel I could do it on my website and fanpage just as easily.

Anyway, one image for today. Linework for one of the characters I've been developing. It's one of the main villain characters, though I'm still processing some things with the design (mainly colors and how I expect it to function on two legs considering, though the references I have for the creature it's based upon look awkward anyway so hey, why can't mine be awkward as well?)

This is Jersey. I am very clever with names as it is supposed to be based off the Jersey Devil (loosely). It's genderless and, well, evil. As a side note, no, I do not know what is with my obsession with scaley bird legs recently, especially since they are tedious to draw (and oh man does that back of the leg thumb thing throw me off). More linework/designs to come as I get them scanned in!

Worst. Poster. Ever.

Sorry guys, I have been distracted and haven't really had much to post since I haven't really been getting much done over break. I'm in classes again and will HOPEFULLY produce some cool stuff to post this semester (though as of yet there's nothing I'm incredibly proud of).

All I can say is keep an eye on this page and perhaps my website for art updates, which should be coming soon!

As a small treat, I will post the pictures I have of my Everlong lunchboxes since the new Facebook layout screwed me a bit and didn't bother to post them on the front page so no one saw them.

MY COMICS, YOU MUST READ THEM

Well, when they're done.

I've been working more on my latest comic project:

I've gotten the pages sketched out and am going to start inking this week. I'll be posting a few pages (probably between 3-5) on my website in a few weeks, so make sure to bookmark it! My website can be found here: www.lifeofgeek.com

I also have a fanpage on facebook, so if you want to see random updates of work (related to my comics) and just general updates of progress, feel free to fan that! You can find that link here: Life of Geek Facebook Page

I also have a twitter account because I was sort of pressured into making it, though as far as I know it's just updated from my facebook, so you'll end up finding more there anyway. I believe my tag or username on Twitter is lifeofgeek also if you feel the need to look me up there.

Add me, spread my link, spread the love, spread my comic!
